Luke 20:36
October 4
Luke 20:36
Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
In this world, death is the norm. Friends, relatives, people in the news and all around us one by one pass into eternity. The funeral services, the mourning and tears, and the graveside ritual are woven into the fabric of our life in this world. But the next world? The one purchased by the blood of Jesus? There will be no weeping for lost loved ones, and no anxiety for the safety of our friends. Jesus said, “I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction.” Hosea 13:14, and “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. John 11:25. So if we truly follow Jesus, we can say, “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” 1 Corinthians 15:55.
