Micah 6:8
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Have you ever stopped to think that the Bible is the ONLY book that almost from cover to cover is telling us to be honest, love mercy, do justice and all things that are good, decent and beautiful. Why is that? It is because THAT IS THE WAY GOD IS. He wants us to have His values; to be like Him. Today’s verse has always seemed to me like such an appealing and simple thing; DO JUSTLY, and to LOVE MERCY, and to WALK HUMBLY WITH THY GOD? What could be more REASONABLE? He doesn’t say to TAKE THE SWORD and to PILLAGE VILLAGES, and to BOMB OTHER PEOPLE. You can please Him by doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with your God. THINK ABOUT IT. And of course the very starting point is to receive His Son Jesus into your heart as your LORD and SAVIOR, and then to walk daily with Him.
Commentary by Francis L. Harris
