Psalms 37:27
Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
Sin is unprofitable. Sometimes it appears to confer a benefit, but there is always a stinger, a lament, a broken heart and a broken home. We live in an age where sin is glamorized, cursing and foul language are heard everywhere, and stage and screen stars live the most abandoned and degenerate lives. 1 Cor. 6:9,10 says: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” The sins mentioned in these verses are the ones that characterize our modern day lifestyle, and unless we repent, we are ripe for judgment.
