Isaiah 12:2
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
How beautiful is this simple testimony of Isaiah: God is my salvation. We can live many years without even knowing that we are lost and need to be forgiven and saved. But when God begins to reveal Himself to us in his holiness and righteousness, we see ourselves as we are; utterly sinful, lost, unclean, and with no hope of any sort. We begin to realize that we need forgiveness of sins, and a righteousness that is beyond ourselves, even the imputed righteousness of Jesus, who loved us and gave Himself for our sins. After we receive Jesus, then we can say with Isaiah, Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
