1 Corinthians 3:16
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
The Apostle seems to be marveling. Know ye not? The Corporate body of believers is the temple of God, and EACH BELIEVER individually is called the temple of God, because the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, INDWELLS EACH OF THE TRUE BELIEVERS. Is it not a marvel that God would choose to do so? At the very BEGINNING BOOKS of the Old Testament God reveals HIS DESIRE to dwell among His people and NOW He reveals the completion and fullness of this desire in that HE INDWELLS each individual believer and the church entire. With this in mind, Paul marvels that anyone could think of living an immoral, licentious, SINFUL, IMPURE LIFE, while being indwelt by the Spirit of God. What manner of persons should we be, in all purity and HOLINESS of life in gratitude and adoration of our Savior who loved us and gave Himself for us? Let us yield to the Spirit to be led by Him.
