1 Corinthians 6:20
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
We measure the VALUE of things by the PRICE you must pay to obtain them, whether it be a car, a house, a loaf of bread, etc. What are WE WORTH? Consider the PRICE that was paid to redeem us. We were lost in sin, had wandered far from God, had broken all His commandments, and were hopelessly lost. To REDEEM something is to buy it back, such as redeeming something from a pawn shop. There is a price to pay to REDEEM it. When we were lost in our sins, God sent His Son to REDEEM us. What was THE PRICE that Jesus paid? HE PAID IT ALL. He suffered a cruel death by crucifixion and shed His last drop of blood to SAVE us from our sins. INDEED we are bought with a price! Paul reasons that since you are “bought with a price”, you should “glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s”.
