Psalms 46:1

Psalms 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Words of an old song go….. “Living below in this old sinful world, Where could I go but to the Lord?” Sometimes the storms of life are raging about us and the perfect, the ONLY refuge and shelter is in the Rock of Ages, our Lord Jesus Christ. Where do YOU go when troubles are pressing you down? Abraham Lincoln said that when his problems were unbearable, he was often driven to his knees in the knowledge that there was NO PLACE ELSE TO GO. When our little boat is tossed and rocked by howling tempests, and life’s problems are almost unbearable, the Christian has A SHELTER IN THE TIME OF STORM. What a comfort to realize that God has knowledge of every problem and care that we have, and that if we call on Him, HE IS READY, WILLING, AND ABLE to help us. He is indeed our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Commentary by Francis L. Harris
