1 John 1:5
February 10
1 John 1:5
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
This creates a dilemma. HOW CAN WE APPROACH GOD, or come into His presence? Have you ever stared at the sun? If you look at a solar eclipse you will go blind. The Bible says that Jesus dwells in the light that no man can approach unto, 1 Tim.6:16, and we read that The New Jerusalem will have no need of the sun because the LORD HIMSELF is the light of the city. Remember how Moses face shone brilliantly after spending time in God’s presence? This light is also moral illumination or HOLINESS. Jer.9:24 tells us, that the LORD delights in lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, while on the other hand we are filled with treachery, fraud, deceit, thievery, hate, and all forms of iniquity. BUT GOD HAS DEVISED A WAY THAT WE CAN APPROACH HIM! Jesus took our sin and darkness unto Himself on the cross, and when we repent and receive Him as our Savior, GOD IMPUTES JESUS’ RIGHTEOUSNESS TO US! Think of it! God imputes Jesus’ righteousness to us! Our Jesus has blasted and DEMOLISHED ALL BARRIERS that stood between us and God, so that we can enter the gates of glory with banners flying; we can have all confidence and blessed assurance because we are accepted “in the beloved”, that is accepted IN, THROUGH, AND BECAUSE OF JESUS, who purchased our salvation with His own blood on the tree. Hallelujah!
