Psalms 31:24

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

Sometimes in our Christian life when we see the tendency of our own heart to waywardness and rebellion against God, we can become discouraged and say, “What is the use?” Or we may question whether we are even saved. There is the courage that it takes to look down the mouth of a cannon, and there is the courage that it takes to go to God when we have fallen, ask his forgiveness, and get back on track. It is this moral courage and stamina that this verse is teaching. Or we may see sinners prospering materially while Christian brothers are struggling. Have faith in God. He is on the throne and He sees the outcome of things, whereas we only see the present. Notice the beautiful promise in this verse. You be of good courage, “and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.”
