1 Peter 1:16
August 13
1 Peter 1:16
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Holiness is separation from all that is unclean, evil, immoral, dishonest and wrong. It is partaking of all that is decent, clean, honest and good. God calls us to this separation, and to this holiness, the reason being grounded on the fact that God is holy. “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19,20. “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14. Let us shun all that is unclean, off-color, immoral and indecent, and let us pursue all that is clean, good, true and beautiful. That is the way it is in heaven.
