Romans 8:16
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
To have the Spirit bear witness with our spirit is life at its’ best. This is joy, peace and blessedness, and it is the end for which you were created. What peace and joy when you can truly sing the words of the children’s song, “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.” But when we have unconfessed sin in our lives and we are not walking in the light as He is in the light, then a cloud comes between us and the Lord, and we begin to wonder if we are really saved. We are like royalty living on Skid Row, or like a fish out of water. But when we are walking in the Spirit, He bears witness with our spirit and we have heaven on earth. We can sing, “I’m living on the mountain, underneath a cloudless sky, I’m drinking at the fountain, that never shall run dry, O yes! I’m feasting on the manna from a bountiful supply, for I am dwelling in Beulah Land.”
