Habakkuk 3:18

Habakkuk 3:18
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
In the preceding verse, the prophet says that even though the fig trees do not blossom, and there are no grapes on the vine, the olive trees yield nothing, the fields produce nothing, and their sheep and cattle die, nevertheless, we will joy in the God of our salvation. Sometimes we do have problems. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow coined the phrase, “Into each life some rain must fall.” Our verse for today gives the proper attitude of the Christian in light of these things. We look up. We trust God. Come what may, our Father is still on the throne, and not a leaf falls without His knowledge. Jesus said, “In the world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.” John 16:33. And best of all Jesus says, “Behold, I come quickly.” Revelation 3:11.
