John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The book of Genesis takes us to the beginning of our created universe. But this verse takes us back before that when from all eternity were Father, Son and Holy Spirit. There is a cult that misquotes this verse, claiming that Jesus was A God. Our versaday for today shows us the divinity of Jesus Christ when it says that the Word WAS GOD. When Jesus suffered and died on the cross, His sacrifice was sufficient to pay for the sins of the whole world, which would have been impossible if He were only a man. But blessed be God, the Bible says that He died for the sins of the whole world, and that His blood cleanses from ALL sin; yours, mine, and the rest of the world who are willing to fall down and worship Him, and receive Him into their heart for salvation. To all such He gives eternal life, which He could not do if He were only a man. Thank you Jesus!
