Matthew 5:8

Matthew 5:8
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
In our natural state before becoming born again by receiving Jesus as our Savior, we are all sinners and rebels against God. “There is none righteous, no not one.” Romans 3:10. But when we repent and are born again, our sins are washed away in the blood of Christ, and the righteousness of Christ is placed on us. What a blessing! That is the way God views us; through the blood of His Son. That is our POSITION. After that, God wants our daily experience to match our position. God wants us to be pure in heart, that is, to avoid the omnipresent filth of the world; the lust, fornication, sexual deviation, deceit, cursing, filth, and all the other things that go to make up this present evil world. That is the negative; the things to avoid. On the positive side we are to be filled with the Spirit, let the Word dwell richly in us, to live in love, joy, and peace. Paul said in Romans 14:17, “The kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” Amen.
