Matthew 6:33

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Jesus says that if we will seek first the Kingdom God, (the holiness and purity of heart which come from obedience and dedication to His will and service), everything else will be added, as John Trapp said, “as small additions to the main bargain”. For example, you buy $50.00 worth of groceries. Don’t worry about the grocery bags. They are included! It is said that long ago a King told a friend, “Ask what you will, and I will give it to you.” Now he wanted to be a general, but he thought, “If I ask be a general, he will grant it, but if I ask for His daughter to be my wife, the generalship and everything else will be included.” And so it was. I read of a man before the age of aviation who came from England to the United States by boat. As he disembarked, a friend saw him and said, “Where have you been? I haven’t seen you the whole trip.” He blushed and said, “I barely had enough money for the ticket and not for meals, so I bought some cheese and crackers which I have been eating in my room the whole trip.” “What?” His friend replied. “Don’t you know that meals are included in the price of the ticket?” “Seek ye first the kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
