Psalms 23:1

Psalms 23:1
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
In this one verse there is more rest for the weary, more comfort for the afflicted, and more security for the fearful, than is to be found in all the writings of men to be found in all the books on all the shelves of all the libraries and bookstores in the world. It has helped and comforted more fearful and troubled hearts than all of the psychiatry and psychology ever spoken or written. Meditate on it. Ponder it. It is short, so memorize it. Here is perfect security. Who or what shall harm you if you abide close to Jesus, the Good Shepherd? Here is provision for all your needs, “I shall not want”. Here is love. Jesus said in John 10:11, “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” And so He did. Have you knelt at the foot of the cross and looked up at the good shepherd laying down his life for the sheep? Have you made Him Lord of your life, so that He is truly the good shepherd to you?
