1 John 4:16

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

God is holy and cannot tolerate sin; this causes me concern. God is just, and will punish sinners; this causes me more concern. But the fact that God is love, and sent His Son to save us; this gives me hope and rejoicing. It is interesting that of all the things that could be said about God, He chose just these three words to tell us about Himself; God is love. Let us praise God that He is as He is; not a despot, not a tyrant, but our kind, loving, heavenly father. How much does God love us? Can His love be measured? The Bible gives us an indication of the degree of His love toward us. “For God…SO…loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. What love! “How can we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?”. Hebrews 2:3
