Lamentations 3:25

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

Our verse for today tells us the kind of person that the Lord blesses, whether it be deliverance from a problem, or a special request, or a closer walk with the Lord. We are not always delivered immediately out of the net. The Lord has ordained that we call upon Him, and patiently, expectantly wait in His presence. If we could solve all our own problems, we would never need to call upon the Lord, so the promise here is to those who wait for him and seek his face. When the outlook is dark it may be that it is because the clouds are black and heavy with the blessings that God is about to pour out upon us, so we say with Habakkuk, “The vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3. We have this promise, that He is good to “them that wait for him.”
