Hebrews 11:6

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Chapter 11 of Hebrews is a roll call of the faithful and their exploits done through their faith. It is very rewarding to read the whole chapter. I counted 18 times that it is said that someone did something by faith or through faith. Count them and please tell me if I am wrong. First, we must believe, “that He is.” The rank materialist or atheist cannot please God because in order to ignore the evidence of our Creator requires a determined effort to eliminate Him from our minds so that we can live sinfully as we desire, without restraint. Secondly, it demands a very low concept of God to think that He will place whoremongers, liars, cheats, and the filthy on the same level as those that are kind, obedient to Him, loving and merciful, and who have responded to the invitation of His precious Son, who said, “Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28. God’s invitation is to daily exercise our faith in Him, and this chapter 11 of Hebrews shows that He is a rewarder of those who truly seek Him.
