Jeremiah 33:6

Jeremiah 33:6
Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
The background for understanding this verse is Jeremiah 33: 4-16 and will repay the little time that it takes to read and understand. At that time, Judah and Israel were captives in the land of Babylon. Their cities were waste, and all hope seemed gone, but God promised to restore them to their land and heal them, which has been partly fulfilled and will be completely fulfilled as the end-time events continue to unfold. Read it. This is God’s plan and promise for Jerusalem. But we can also apply this to our personal lives. No matter how ravaged our lives, how lost, destitute and hopeless things seem, if we will truly repent of our sins, and cry out to Jesus to be our Savior, there is a loving heavenly Father who will save us from our wretchedness, write our name in His book in heaven, and fill our hearts with love, joy and peace in the Holy Spirit. Clearly there are many lost opportunities and perhaps years spent wandering in the wilderness of sin, folly and carnal pleasure; “Wasted days and wasted nights”. But God is gracious and merciful and can fill the time that you may have remaining, with love, peace, joy in the Holy Ghost, and then, eternity in heaven. None of us are saved because we are good, but because of the finished work of Jesus in dying for our sins. Some through the water, Some through the flood, Some through the fire, But all through the blood.
Commentary by Francis L. Harris
