2 Corinthians 13:11
Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
These closing words of Paul in this epistle reveal the heart of this great apostle. He desires their perfection, comfort, unity, and peace; and the continued presence of the Father bringing them love, harmony and peace. What a benediction! We can be perfect positionally in Christ, but we all fall very, very short of perfection in our personal, daily walk. Nevertheless, “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.” 1 John 1:9 These instructions are for the church,(that is, all saved, born again believers). As we are courteous to one another in Christian love, as we strive for unity and Christian accord, the blessed result is that the God of love and peace shall be with us. What a Gospel! Who could ask for more?
