Job 11:18

Job 11:18
And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.
There is no peace and joy to compare with knowing that Jesus is yours and that you belong to Him for eternity. The Bible refers to Jesus as a shelter in the time of storm; the shadow of a rock in a weary land; a covert, a hiding place, a fort, a refuge, and many other symbols of safety and security. But being in Christ, and knowing that you are in Christ, are two different things. To the degree that you are trusting in your own works, your sincerity and your faith as a foundation for your salvation, to that degree you will be plagued by doubts and torment. To the degree that you rest all on the finished work of Christ and the faithfulness of God to honor His word, to that degree you will have peace and joy in believing. Realize that salvation is His work and that we are saved, safe, and secure because of what Jesus did on the Cross; that what Jesus did was a complete work, and there is nothing that we can add to it. “Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe”.
Commentary by Francis L. Harris
"...what must I do to be saved?" Acts 16:30
