Matthew 9:37
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
The Harvest is that vast number of lost souls in this world who will come to the realization that there must be some purpose, something more to this life than mere physical, animal existence: who will hear the Gospel, the good news that Jesus died for our sins, and who then respond to the offer of eternal life by repentance and receiving Jesus into their heart. DOES THIS INCLUDE YOU? The laborers in this harvest are those who sow the Gospel seed and help bring others to Christ. The harvest truly is plenteous, so Jesus said to pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send forth laborers to accomplish this. We are not necessarily talking about ministers, but just faithful witnesses who have been truly saved, and will tell others the Gospel message. Jesus tells us that at the end of the world the saved and the lost will be divided, to be sent to their separate destinies of eternal bliss, or eternal punishment. Each of us should ask himself, “Where will I be?” Eternity is just around the corner.
