James 1:19
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
In the elementary grades we all had two or three classmates who were waving their hands frantically almost before the teacher could finish her question. We know people who have difficulty understanding a problem or a question because they are talking. We should weigh what we hear, consider carefully before we speak because a hasty, hurtful word can’t be recalled. Heeding this one bit of Biblical wisdom can smooth our road and help us avoid innumerable problems. Look before you leap, and think before you speak. Especially we should be slow to wrath. Anger ceases not by anger and merely adds fuel to the flames. Open your heart to Jesus; let Him live in your life; walk in the Spirit and you won’t fulfill these motions of the flesh; and………I’ll see you in heaven.

Commentary by Francis L. Harris
