Psalms 2:7
December 26
Psalms 2:7
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
In this remarkable prophetic Psalm, the rulers and rabble are seen rejecting God’s Son and doing all that is within their power to prevent the Son of God from reigning as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. They say, “Let us throw off their rule, and do as we please”. Yet in spite of their rebellion, and in spite of all their efforts to prevent His rule and His Kingdom, God says, “Yet have I set my King upon my holy hill of Zion”. Psalm 2:6. This prophecy is an exact description of the rejection, counsels and intrigues against Jesus the Messiah when He presented Himself to His people. This rejection continues to this day by the world in general as Jesus is refused entrance into the hearts and lives of the majority of people. He may be rejected, people may deny Him, and others may scoff: But God’s answer is the same, “Yet have I set my King upon my holy hill of Zion”. The little babe in the manger is King of Kings and Lord of Lords and will yet wield the scepter on the throne on Mt. Zion in Jerusalem. Let us yield to Him that He may also reign in our hearts.
