Isaiah 53:11

Isaiah 53:11
He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Jesus knew the reason that he was suffering on the cross. The ONLY way that our sin could be forgiven was for the JUSTICE of God to be vindicated and satisfied by the penalty of sin being paid. Either we must pay for our sins, or a substitute must suffer the penalty for us. Jesus undertook the horrible work of being the substitute for us; the sacrificial lamb slain in our place. Our beautiful verse for today tells us that Jesus did not die in vain, but that HE WOULD SEE the fruit that resulted from His dying. He would see you, and me, and the countless number of souls that will one day enjoy paradise as a result of His sacrificial death. Then these ASTOUNDING words follow: “HE SHALL BE SATISFIED.” Oh sweet Jesus! Oh precious Savior! He sees US and He says: IT WAS WORTH IT. He shall “see of the travail of his soul”, means that He will see all those who will spend eternity with Him in heaven and shall be satisfied. By His endurance, by His love, God’s righteous servant shall justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
