Ecclesiastes 11:1
Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.
The primary meaning of this verse is that we should share with others which will result in blessings to them, and to ourselves also. This has reference to sharing our worldly goods, and our spiritual wealth that we have in Jesus Christ. God’s promise to us is that if we are diligent and generous, we will have a wonderful harvest. He that goes forth bearing precious seed, “shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him”. Psalm 126:6. If we are faithful and diligent, one day we will hear our Heavenly Father say, “Well done thou good and faithful servant”, Matthew 25:2l. But Paul warns us that “He which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully”, 2 Corinthians 9:6.
