1 Chronicles 29:11
Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.
The message of today’s verse is similar to “The Lord’s Prayer”, that Jesus taught his disciples to pray, and reminds us of the song, “This Is My Father’s World”. We tend to think that everything is all about us. Creatures of the moment, sinners and rebels at best, strutting on the stage for a few brief moments, we tend to magnify and exaggerate our own importance. To put things in perspective, let us remember that in heaven, as the ages roll on and on through a long, long eternity, numberless angels, along with all of earth’s redeemed of all the ages will be around God’s throne saying, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, “Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto him that sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever”. Revelation 5:12,13. This scene in heaven is in terrible contrast to the “weeping and wailing and grinding of teeth” of all those who are cast into outer darkness for rejecting the Savior.
