Psalms 147:3
April 1
Psalms 147:3
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
He beholds the proud from a distance, but has compassion on the humble. Before He enters our life and saves us from sin, he shows us that we are sinners and have the total need of cleansing and salvation. The Holy Spirit shows us that our lives are godless and wrong, and lifts up Jesus to our view as crucified and suffering in our place. Who has a broken heart? God will give you a new heart. Who is mourning wasted years and wasted life? God will restore the rotted, wasting fruit that the cankerworm has eaten. When you have a view of your worthlessness and the depths of your sin, and then call upon Jesus to be your Savior, it is THEN that our gracious God will see your tears and repentance, and fulfill the words of our versaday: He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Psalms 147:3
Our God is merciful, loving and gracious and will heal the broken-hearted. In your Christian life when you are sorrowing over the loss of a loved one, or dealing with pain and loss of any sort, go to Him. Call upon Him and he will send the Holy Spirit, The Comforter, to give you the grace and peace to confront the suffering and loss.
