Mark 13:31
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
Everything in this world is changing, temporary and transitory. The crumbling remains of columns and ruins of Greece and Rome testify to the impermanent state of things. The pretty rose flourishes briefly, and is gone. Old photographs reveal a past that is no longer with us, while we in turn are just passing through. Yes, the Rock of Gibraltar, that grand symbol of permanence, will crumble and be dissolved. The Bible tells us that the heavens and earth will pass away with a great noise, and then be gone. But as far as you might be able to look into eternity future, the Word of God will remain settled, secure, and unchanged. Are you building on the shifting sands of time?.... or the permanent, solid, enduring words of Jesus who said, ”Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.” Where will you spend eternity?
