Psalms 36:5

Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

The only reason that anyone can hope for salvation and a home in heaven is that the LORD is unchanging, and FAITHFUL to His Word. He has promised that all who repent and come to Jesus will have eternal life. He has promised this, and He will fulfill His Word. We can be confident that He will take the measures necessary to bring it to pass, that is, to make it happen. I am inconstant, changeable and vacillating so that if my continuance on the pathway to heaven depended on myself, I, like Paul, would be of all men most miserable. But we can say with Jeremiah, “Great is thy faithfulness”, and with Paul, “He that hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
