If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
God is faithful, and He wants us to be faithful and unwavering in our obedience and service to Him. While the sun may be shining now, and all may be going smoothly, there are always trials and hard times in this world. In addition to the ordinary trials of life, the Revelation tells that there is an “hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world,” Rev.3:10. If we do not “walk in the Spirit”, Gal. 5:16, and “put on the whole armor of God”, Eph. 6:13, we will not be able to stand. I am reminded of Thomas Paine’s essay titled The Crisis: “The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country, etc.” Let us renew our strength and dedication to our Savior, and ‘having done all, to stand”.
