Matthew 28:6

Matthew 28:6
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Jesus had repeatedly stated that he would be killed in Jerusalem and rise again the third day. In spite of his cruel death, in spite of the rock on his tomb to seal him in, and in spite of the Roman guard who was posted there to insure that he stayed in the tomb, He arose from the dead, victorious over death and the grave, and now, like Samson carrying the gates, bar and all, He has risen, victorious over death and the grave. “O Death, where is thy sting? O Grave, where is thy victory?” Jesus told John in the Revelation, “ I am he that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore”, Rev. 1:18. What does this mean for you? “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9.
