Mark 1:11
April 26
Mark 1:11
And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
The Prophets all pointed toward the Messiah, and here God places the perfect seal on their testimony, saying, “Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. This reassurance was very timely, because immediately after this Jesus was led of the Spirit into the wilderness where he was tried and tempted of Satan who began each of the first two temptations with the words, “IF thou be the Son of God.” Satan tried to make Jesus doubt and he will try to make US doubt. Jesus was CERTAIN and we need to be CERTAIN also. Any doubts need to be resolved by going to our knees and talking to our heavenly Father. If you “confess with your mouth the LORD Jesus Christ, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED”. Romans 10:9
Commentary by Francis L. Harris
