1 Thessalonians 5:9

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

If you truly belong to Christ, you are not appointed to endure the wrath of God, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Your destiny does not change from one day to the next depending on how you feel, or whether you are having a good day or a bad day. Your salvation is fixed, abiding, and secure, only PROVIDING that you have truly repented and placed your faith in Jesus. Notice the last part of the verse…. “salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.” It is of Him, by Him, and through Him from start to finish, and is a free, fixed, eternal gift. It must be understood that if you truly know Him, you will follow Him.
