1 Corinthians 1:25

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

It is still true that the preaching of the cross is foolishness to the world. People will nod approval if you speak of earning your salvation, or working your way to heaven, but Christ dying on the cross as payment for our sins is seen as foolishness to the world. But to them which are called to eternal life, Christ crucified is both the power and wisdom of God for our salvation. It is still true that the way of the cross leads home.
