James 4:7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

The essence of sin is to serve SELF. Our verse says to submit your SELVES God, not just live as you please with no purpose or aim but to feed the flesh and please yourself. The problem in our city, state, nation, and world is that people have no moral compass or rudder other than just to do what is pleasurable, comfortable or easy to themselves, or as the Bible says “living for the flesh”.

Completely contrary to this is the attitude of our Savior who said, “My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me”, and you will never have joy and peace and a productive, meaningful existence until you submit yourself to your Creator and Savior, and live to please Him. That is why we are here. That is the meaning of our existence.
