Matthew 5:7

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

What a debt God has forgiven us! When we knelt before God and asked Jesus into our heart He showed that “His mercy is great above the heavens”. Psalm 108:4. What a debt God has forgiven us. After a long career of deceit, sin and uncleanness, those who have truly come to Christ have been pardoned and saved from that mountain of guilt that was pressing us down to Hell. How can we help but love him and be sympathetic and merciful to those that are in any way destitute or suffering as we were? He that is unfeeling, unforgiving and not quick to be helpful and show mercy, gives the strongest evidence that he himself has never experienced the forgiveness and mercy o God, because, “He that is forgiven much, the same loveth much”. Luke 7:47.
