John 1:10

John 1:10
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
Amazing grace, that the Son of God should humble Himself, come into this world, and take the form of a man so that He could give Himself as a sacrifice for our sins. Where did the world come from? Our verse tells us: “The world was made by Him.” It was not the explosion of a huge rock, or the sudden expansion of gases. God spoke and it was done. We are not animals. God made man in His image. James Whitcomb Riley said, “Of all sad words on tongue or pen, the saddest are these, “It might have been”. He was wrong. Those are sad words, but truly the saddest words are the last ones in our verse for today; “and the world knew him not.” These are the saddest words. And the world still does not know Him. Do you? The day is coming when “every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” Romans 14:11. Even so, come Lord Jesus. Amen.
