Exodus 14:20

Exodus 14:20
And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.
As the Egyptians pursued the Israelites to destroy them after the exodus from Egypt, God caused a great cloud to appear between them which gave light to the Israelites and darkness to the Egyptians. On the one side of the cloud there was pitch darkness, and on the other side there was abundant light. The Gospel is like that. “But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock and unto the Greeks foolishness; but unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:23,24. To the unsaved the Gospel is darkness, but to the saved it is light. To the unsaved it is dull, dreary, and tedious, but to us who are saved, it is a joy, it is delightful, it is honey out of the rock. What is it to you?
Commentary by Francis L. Harris
"...what must I do to be saved?" Acts 16:30
